Troubleshooting playback
Music not playing? Work down this list — it resolves almost everything.
The music never started
- On the web: click play once. Browsers require one click on a fresh page before any site may make sound; after that, the schedule and keyboard keys work normally.
- Signed in? Free listening works signed out, but your subscription (and its ad-free listening) only applies once you sign in.
The music was playing and stopped
- A seat-limit note is on screen. All your seats were in use and another device started playing, so this one bowed out — it's the least-recently-used one. Press play to take the seat back, or add a seat if this happens often.
- The schedule paused it. If a daily schedule is on, the music stops at your set pause time — check the clock button (web) or the app's settings.
- The device went to sleep. Keep lobby devices plugged in, set computers to stay awake during business hours, and on iPhone or iPad set Auto-Lock to Never for counter-top setups.
- The tab or app was closed. The player has to be running — reopen it and press play.
There's sound, but in the wrong place
- Check the output route. Bluetooth and AirPlay reconnect to whatever they saw last — reselect your speaker in the AirPlay menu or your device's sound settings. The full map is in Getting the music to your speakers.
- TV shows the app but stays silent? Check the TV input's volume and mute — TVs keep per-input settings more often than you'd think.
