Playing from a computer
Any computer with a browser is a SoftWork Beats player — the reception desk PC, an old laptop, a Mac mini behind the TV. Nothing to install.
Play from the browser
- Open softworkbeats.com in any modern browser.
- Sign in so your subscription and seats apply.
- Pick a genre and press play, then let the tab run all day.
The play, pause, and skip keys on your keyboard work while the music plays, and after a few quiet minutes the page turns into a gentle screensaver with album art and optional trivia.
Make it feel like an app
Most browsers can install the player as its own app: look for Install app in the address bar or browser menu (Chrome and Edge call it "Install"). You get a clean window without tabs, its own icon in your dock or taskbar, and it's harder for staff to close by accident.
On a Mac you can also get the native app from the Mac App Store — it's the same app as the iPhone and iPad version. Find it on the apps page.
Run it all day
- Plug the computer in and set its sleep settings so it stays awake during business hours — the music runs in the tab, so the computer needs to be on.
- Use the daily schedule (the clock button on the player once you're signed in) to start and stop playback around your hours automatically.
- Send the sound to real speakers: see Getting the music to your speakers.
